The Evangelism Committee at First English reaches out into the community, inviting others to participate in our community of faith.
Projects include:
- Neighborhood Newsletter
- "Cookies at the Corner" outreach
- Door hangers for the neighborhood
- Publicity Projects including newspaper, telephone, and bus ads
Our Parish Education Committee teaches the faith to our children and adults.
Projects include:
- Adult Sunday school classes
- Adult mid-week Bible studies for men, women, and couples
- Sunday school for children ages 3 through high school
- Wednesday Night Activities
- Vacation Bible School
- Men's Breakfast Bible Study - 3rd Thursday of the month, 6:30 a.m., Sterling Family Restaurant
Members of the Prayer Ministry Committee invite the congregation to pray for the world, our communities, and our church.
Projects include:
- Prayer and Praise Services each Wednesday night at 6:00 p.m.
- Prayer vigils on the first Monday of the month.
- National Day of Prayer service.
The goal of the Social Conerns Committee is to serve people spiritually, mentally, and physically, as Christ has called us to serve.
Projects include:
- Care Giving Tree - in Advent, Christmas gifts are collected for the needy
- Prison Ministry - collecting of toiletries, books, and cards for the inmates
- Miles of Pennies - collection for world hunger
- Blood Drive - held in autumn for the Red Cross
- Missionary for a Day - supports foriegn ministries
- LSSI Tutoring - tutoring children who need help with their school work. Meets Thursday afternoons.
- Wellness Board - supports the work of the parish nurses
- Quarterly food collections - held in January, March, July, and October
The Stewardship Committee provides the congregation with the resources we need to carry out Christ's ministry.
Projects include:
- Preparing of the budget
- Annual stewardship pledge drive
- Provides contribution envelopes to the congregation
The Trustees/Property Committee maintain and improve our property so that we may house and serve in the ministries of our Lord.
Projects include:
- Renovation Committee - examines our future needs and initiates capital improvement projects
- Various work days to help clean, fix, paint, and repair the church
The Worship Committeee provides opportunities for members of the congregation to more actively participate in worship.
Projects include:
- Adult Choir
- Youth Choir
- Bell Choir
- Ushers
- Lectors - read daily lessons
- Communion Assistants - help distribute Holy Communion
- Altar Guild - care for the sanctuary, vestments, and communion ware
- Cantors - lead the people in worship
- Assisting Ministers
- Video Taping

Projects include:
- Lutheran Youth Organization - for high school students
- Junior Lutheran Youth Organization - for junior high school students
